Whimbytes is a small, independent studio building AI tools that serve ordinary people — not only the well-funded, the technical, or the first to arrive. We think intelligence should be useful to everyone it touches.
Our belief
Technology should serve the many, not only the few.
Most of what is called artificial intelligence today is built for institutions — for the fastest-moving companies, the largest budgets, the loudest markets. That is a narrow slice of human life.
We are interested in the rest of it. The parent with too little time. The small business with no technical staff. The curious person who simply wants a fair bargain. Whimbytes exists to build things that are genuinely useful to them, and to refuse the shortcuts that make products profitable at the expense of the people who use them.
We are early, and we would rather do this slowly and well than quickly and carelessly.
How we build
Plain, not clever
Good tools are easy to understand and easy to leave. We would rather be clear than impressive, and honest than reassuring.
Privacy by default
Your data is yours. Serving you well should never depend on quietly harvesting you, or on what you did not read in a policy.
Built to last
We favour durable, quiet software over the loud and the fleeting — things worth still using in ten years' time.

We're early, and being deliberate about it.
